Dr Muhammad Akhter Hamid

Dr. Muhammad Akhter Hamid is an Associate Professor in the Department of Paediatrics at the University of Toronto. He is also a general pediatrician and a neonatologist. Dr. Hamid plays a crucial role in providing inpatient and outpatient care to paediatric patients, with additional on-call duties that include coverage for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), delivery suites, postnatal care, and paediatric wards with a special interest in emergency medicine and global health at the Scarborough Health Network (SHN). Dr. Hamid is the Director of Paediatric Research and Resident’s Education. He has been consistently involved in teaching and training medical students and residents from the University of Toronto, nursing students from York University and has regularly participated as an instructor for the ACRP mock-code scenarios for PGY1 residents in General Paediatrics, at the SickKids Hospital, Toronto. He is also the Conference Director of the Paediatric Pearls Conference, which is an annual medical conference for paediatricians and family physicians held by Scarborough Health Network and University of Toronto. Additionally, Dr. Hamid was involved in improving and creating new patient care guidelines for Provincial Council for Maternal and Child Health (PCMCH).

Saro Ganeshapillai

Saro Ganeshapillai is an international board-certified Lactation Consultant and a Pediatric Registered Nurse. She has been working with mothers and babies for over 25 years. As a lactation consultant, she has been working in Postpartum, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Labor and Delivery, Breastfeeding Clinic, Pediatric Clinic, and Community Centers providing prenatal education and postnatal breastfeeding assistance. It can sometimes be a very challenging and anxious time for mothers and families. As a professional lactation consultant, Saro will help mothers establish breastfeeding to meet your goals and mitigate associated challenges.

Iris Lozano’s

I am passionate about helping families to support their children in meeting feeding milestones and troubleshooting common feeding issues, so that they can spend more of their time and energy on making memories together as a family. Areas of practice include: infant nutrition, introduction to solids, picky eating, allergies, constipation management and failure to grow.

Molly Mclaughlin

Molly is a Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of Ontario, and also a Certified Diabetes Educator. She is currently working as a Clinical Dietitian at Centenary Hospital, primarily in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Inpatient Pediatrics Unit. She is passionate about teaching families how to feed their infants and toddlers confidently so that their little ones receive the nourishment that they need for proper growth and development.

Dr. Sonia completed her medical degree and postgraduation from a heavy burden multidisciplinary public hospital of Pakistan. Having clinical expertise and Masters in healthcare administration in community care from Toronto Metropolitan University, Dr. Vallani is interested in providing comprehensive care through research and innovation.
